Herpes confusion

Hey doc,
I came into contact with a herpes carrier, she didn't know he had it, and an IgG test 2 weeks after exposure was negative, but recently there were 2 rash like spots under my pubic hair on my groin region.

They were irritating and painful sporaically but no blisters appeared.  This could still be herpes right?  I'm gettig retested at 8 weeks either way, I'm just curious if my thoughts are correct on what these two areas couldve been.

Thanks

this isn't the doctor's forum - you  have to pay to post there.

getting tested 2 weeks post encounter was way too early. if you have active symptoms, be seen within 48 hours of their appearance for a lesion culture and typing. otherwise you need to wait and repeat your type specific herpes igg blood tests 3 months post encounter.

Oh ok, well I thought it was.  That's the problem I have no lesions.  That's why there's any doubt and I know the test was way too early.

It could be, but usually blisters would appear...it could be an infection....  Did you use protection? Was she having an outbreak?  You will just have to wait and see.  Actually, I'm not sure what an IgG test is but if you have them do a culture, if they can, that could be more accurate, because it would be taking a sample of the actual site of possible infection
