Herpes diagnosis?? Please help what should I do??

About a month ago, I went to a local any lab test now center in my area, and I got an IGG test for hsv 1 and 2. I tested negative for hsv-2, but I did test postive for hsv-1. When the nurse or phlebotomist or whatever she was called me to give me results, she told me that hsv is very common and is nothing to be concerned about. And she also assured that I don't need to seek medical treatment, but I'm not very confident with the information she gave me or lack thereof. My questions are number one do I need to seek medical treatment for hsv-1? And number 2, if I do am I gonna have to take medication for the rest of my life? And three, is herpes going to affect my immune system or my health throughout my life? Please help, I've been so nervous and worried and confused and helpless these last weeks and I  really need some information about he steps I need to take in my life right now

Yes you can have as many children as you like. HSV for most people is like most of then tens of viruses present in our body, very likely to cause no issues at all during our lifetime, sometimes some minor issues and in very rare circumstances something a little more serious.

nope, no risk of transmission through sharing food and the virus is easily killed with soap and water.

usually sores inside the mouth are canker sores. You can google them for more info.

when you are dating someone, you can include your known hsv1 status with your condom, birth control and std discussion with them :)

Also if I happen to start dating someone  how high of a risk is it to spread oral herpes to that person when you have no cold sores present?? And also can oral herpes also cause sores inside the mouth?

Ok there's no risk that I can pass it to them by like sharing eating utensils or towels or bathrooms or anything like that? I mean I mean we share utensils and towels but only after they've been washed, so is that a risk? I'm just really worried about that. I mens I feel like I should tell them but I don't want them to think negatively and be scared and I feel like this I something I should only tell if I'm comfortable but I mean if I have a risk of spreading it to them by living with then then I feel like I should. I don't know I'm just really confused

hsv1 is very common. Odds are, your hsv1 is oral. Oral herpes is transmitted through romantic type kisses and oral sex - not through routine day to day contact with others.

http://www.ashasexualhealth.org/stdsstis/herpes/oral-herpes/  has terrific info on oral herpes for more reading.

you don't need to see a doctor about this and you don't need to treat this since you don't get obvious cold sores.  You just need to be aware of your status so you can talk about it with future partners.

It was at like 4. Something, I think I'll have to look at my copy of the results again. And ok I just wanted to make sure that this isn't something that will cause health issues for me and that I don't need to seek a doctor. Also I have another question. I live with a roommate, and  I'm worried that I'm going to spread to them somehow since I live in such close quarters with them, would that be a risk? I don't really wanna tell people I have this but if it's a risk that I could end up infecting them then I feel I should

Hi, its estimated that upward of 65% of the adult population would test positve for hsv1 oral and this would be the main reason that its not much of an issue as meeting someone with is is very possible and once a person has it they cant contract it again or pass it to the genital area.
Also adults have a strong immune system which aids in preventing transmission.
If youve never had a lip cold sore you most likely will never get one but if you do, just be careful kissing and oral sex till its well healed.
Those who take antivirals are those who have many outbreaks and the only way it affects your immune system is by building antibodies to keep in from coming to the surface in the from of a cold sore.

What were the numbers that showed a positive for hsv1 as anything below 3.5 might be a false positive.
