Herpes encounter, what are my chances ?

Hello ! So heres my story, Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Just to preface the story - The weekend of June 27th i went out of town for a bachelor party and drank considerably too much Friday and Saturday night.

On the night of June 27th (14days ago). After kissing and fingering a girl i had just met she told me that she had Herpes. She said that she hadn't had any outbreaks for a long time. We didn't discuss just how long ago her last outbreak was or whether she had HSV1 or 2. During this whole encounter my underwear never came off. We didn't do anything else that night.

Two days later, after starting to Google herpes and how i could get it even from kissing, i noticed i was really tired that night. The next two days i felt awful, extremely tired, guts hurt, almost like constipation. I tend to have constipation issues at times, so in a scared panic on the second day i took a laxative to clear things up, and either it would go away or not. I took it and felt better. During this time feel like this was a combination of a weekend hangover and being a nervous wreck. I just kept telling myself. We didn't have sex, we didn't have sex.

On Monday July 7th i went to Planned Parent Hood to take the STD blood test to talk to someone and hopeful put this behind me.

Besides that first sickness i haven't had any visible symptoms. Ive had some itching and what i feel it tingling on the head of my penis but i keep thinking its just me worrying myself sick.

Im awaiting my test results, but whats the likeliness that i would get HSV2 from kissing, cuddling, fingering. Ive never had any visible bumps or blisters etc ?

Nice to see the confirmation you don't have HSV2. You can stop worrying about it.

At this point... It is the case that u can't believe ur not infected.  I strongly urge u to move pass this soon before it starts to consume ur mind further.  But if u r still concern... Just do a final test by 16 weeks but seriously.... I think we all would say it'll be negative.
Maybe spend the energy to work out on the reason why u would want to step out of your marriage?  I think that would be much beneficial for u in the long run.

Congrats on ur new son on the way!  Focus on that and ur wife :).

"i just cant accept the fact that it was a random sickness"

Over 80% of newly infected people have positive tests by 8 weeks, so your latest test is additional strong evidence you weren't infected. Between the blood tests, the zero risk of infection from the exposure, and symptoms that didn't suggest herpes, there is simply no chance you were infected. Any "consequences" from your "mistakes" are purely emotional. Believe it.  Do your best to accept the scientific evidence and move on.

Just to update.

At 8 wks HSV1 = .14 & HSV2 = .15

If it weren't for getting sick in the beginning i wouldn't even question it, but no matter what i do i just cant accept the fact that it was a random sickness ? Although i desperately hope that is the case.

Having a wife and a son on the way. Im having to deal with the consequences of my mistakes, and let me say, this is the hardest thing ive ever had to deal with. With that said i appreciate your positive comments.

How accurate does everyone feel results at 8wks are ?

"do most people have a certain level of these antibodies? Do they usually grow in a linear or exponential growth."

No and no. The techhnology of the test is that any number below the cut-off is equally negative. If the same blood specimen were tested 10 times, it would give 10 different numbers, which could vary from 0.1 to 0.4 to 0.8 or whatever; all are negative.

Having had a zero risk exposure, it really didn't make sense for you to be tested anyway and I would recommend you not have any further tests.  Don't have a western blot either.

So ive just recieved back my month 1 results and they were .15 Type 1 and .14 type 2.

My question is, do most people have a certain level of these antibodies? Do they usually grow in a linear or exponential growth. Meaning that at worst it would grow at approx .15 per month ? Just trying to gather some early conclusions. Thanks

Thanks for you opinion. I just received my igG results back and it was negative. I know this early is really inconclusive, i plan to schedule future test, maybe including Western Blot.

Hi, cuddling is no risk if no naked genital to genital rubbing was done, neither is fingering any issue either.
Kissing maybe if she has hsv1 oral but if she did not have any lip sore the risk is quite low as shedding of hsv1 oral is only about 8-18% of the time. If she said she has herpes, its most likley hsv2 genital but do confirm this before being intimate in the future,

Did you have a risk for contracting herpes from what you discribe? Yes. Did you contract it from this one time affair? No not likely at all.
You might want to have a herpes test to confirm your status as well if your sexually active.
