Herpes exposure

Hello

I am a 37 year old male who recently had unprotected sex with an old friend of unknown status .

about 4 days or so after the sex which was vaginal intercourse and i performed oral on her and her on me , i began to have itchy skin sharp prickelly shooting pains in my legs and back and feet and also tingleing in my face and lipps and groin my skin also feels like it burns some times, now the sex was on april 17th which makes it over a month and the symptoms that have started have never stopped also they move they are not confined to anyone pin point location except one spot on the shaft of my penis close to the base but it comes and goes but always in same area ...

while feeling the what i discribe as a tingling or prickly feeling around my body if i move around or do some activity it subsides.

at first i thought it might be prodome but over 3 weeks with out any other symptoms or sores of anytype does not sound common to me ..please correct me if im wrong

does this sound like herpes to anyone
or just flat out something else
i have asked  her status and she has had a few partners in recent years .. she said as far as she knows she has nothing  but after reading the posts on herpes many people never have signs and don't know

just looking for a pcs of mind if this sound like herpes or if it is just me i will get tested at 8 to 10 weeks with herpes select test but for now i would like to see if anyone has anyidea of another cause if i was exposed i would hate to pass it on to some one else unknowingly

i have not schuedled any testing yet .

yeterday 5/21  i just started to experience diarrhea very light in color loose and foamey  with bad gas and  stomach craps.

i have also noticed a few what appears to be pimples on my butt, outside of the rectal area they are on the cheeks and not in a cluster just a few random which i was never exposed to any sexual activity near my anal area .

now i drive truck daily and its been hot out and with being seated all day I have had pimples develop in that area before so i am not so concerened about that but i figured it was worth mentioning.

i have never had the diarrhea i have read that diarrhea could be a sign of a viral infection such as herpes so now i am getting nervous

i am not sure whats going on i know that the odds of getting herpes from a one time encounter unprotected is not very high exspecially when the other person is not known to be infected and if they are as far as they know if they are they have never had any symp.

i am just concerned that i am having issues that as far as i know have no other relation to anything other than a std . i have not changed my eating habits , been out of the country , been exposed to someone with the flu etc... the only thing i have done different is had that one time sex .

i might be devolping these issues from worring about something that is not there i also read that anxeity can cause diarrhea and skin /nerve iritation and intensify the common daily feeling that you would never notice but i am getting nervous that it might be somthing else

grace at 5 weeks post exposure what should i or can i be tested for to be sure  i don't have, i know that herpes needs 8 weeks or more for a igg test to be 80% or better but what about  syphllis , gonarrea , hiv , etc ...

i have been tested for herpes  1 year or so  ago just as a rutine ck up to ck my status and have never have a  at risk exposure since till now and tested negitive for type 1 and 2  .

being i never have herpes if i was exposed with this encounter could a test show faster because of a new infection  should i test now for herpes with any others.

please comment with your opinion

thanks moto

No this doesn't sound at all like shingles either.

moto - have you been to your doctor's yet for a work up?  Since it was unprotected sex did you get a std screening yet?

i think u have what they call as shingles,, but i think you might need to ask for a doctor's help with that,, here's what came to my mind when i read ur post.

i thought of shingles which is: Shingles occurs when the virus that causes chickenpox starts up again in your body. After you get better from chickenpox, the virus "sleeps" (is dormant) in your nerve roots. In some people, it stays dormant forever. In others, the virus "wakes up" when disease, stress, or aging weakens the immune system. It is not clear why this happens. But after the virus becomes active again, it can only cause shingles, not chickenpox.
Shingles symptoms happen in stages. At first you may have a headache or be sensitive to light. You may also feel like you have the flu but not have a fever.

Later, you may feel itching, tingling, or pain in a certain area. That’s where a band, strip, or small area of rash may occur a few days later. The rash turns into clusters of blisters. The blisters fill with fluid and then crust over. It takes 2 to 4 weeks for the blisters to heal, and they may leave scars. Some people only get a mild rash, and some do not get a rash at all.

It’s possible that you could also feel dizzy or weak, or you could have long-term pain or a rash on your face, changes in your vision, changes in how well you can think, or a rash that spreads.

but i think you might need a check up first before i might say this is the reason of what you are seeking for an answer.

hope it helps. =)

Does not at all sound like herpes. See your medical provider to see what's going on. I would not wait 8-10 weeks to be checked out when you are symptomatic now.
