Herpes false positive

What are the chances that I could have a false positive?
I was tested on July 29th last sexual encounter was on may 18th

My results were
Hsv1 - .05
Hsv2 - 2.04

I know the standard is 1.1

I've never had symptoms before. I've been reading that they've been trying to change it to 3.5 as the standard definition for having it when you take an IGG test

I did eat and drink (wine) night before test and ate before test as well. My last encounter I did use a condom.

Got retested. Doc said its real. I tested at 5.0. So what does that mean? The most recent encounter gave it to me?

Thank you! I originally went in because I heard a rumor that the last girl might have it. I called her and asked. She said she didn't have it. After I shared my results. I did have a tiny spot of dry skin right at the base. Doc thought it was psoriasis

eating or drinking prior to herpes testing has no effect on your results.

at this point, wait until 4 months post encounter and seek out a herpes WB blood test to confirm your status. Your current results are still well within the false positive range so waiting a little more and testing with a different test like the WB is the best thing to do at this point.
