Have you seen a urologist? You do need to get as many conditions ruled out as possible. Your symptoms don't really sound like HSV, though I suppose that if you had some kind of immunity dysfunction, it could explain the ongoing itch and nerve pain. The swollen penis after drinking is likely due to something else.
I wonder whether it would be worth it for you to contact Terri Warren at Westover Heights Clinic and have a phone consultation with her. She is the very best clinician we have for HSV. She may be able to suggest some way of getting a definitive test from where you are. You can find her at:

Good luck to you. Crossing my fingers that you find relief soon.
Hi, thanks for your quick response! My hygiene has always been good showering almost every night of the week, at first I thought it might of been thrush/fungal , took dificulan and used canestan cream, which did nothing. The only thing I've never been tested for is herpes. I believe that herpes is running riot through my nervous system damaging nerves in the soles of my feet and penis which is why I get constant pain there. Penis is always red and then gets worse after a night of drinking alcohol. The pubic spots seem to come and go, they itch like crazy but I wouldn't say they hurt, feels like something is crawling on my skin. On occasions I get pains in my ankles, right knee and thighs. Armpits groin and neck hurt but do not swell at times too. I'm 30 years old and shouldn't be feeling like this. Ampitripline takes the edge of the feet pain only, but still stays constantly. On 2 occaisons I've had one red dot on the shaft of my penis which didn't itch or hurt and went away in 3-4 days. My lips are always dry sore and tingly too with a frequent thirst. The penis itch drives me nuts, which lasts about week too 2 weeks every month. I currently am taking 5000 mg of lysine a day which doesn't help either. I have been tested for diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and standard blood tests. I have two beautiful kids and can't even enjoy them as much as I should because I'm so miserable over this.
Hi, since these have been going on non stop for a year it does not appear to be herpes related. The itching etc with herpes are called prodrome and often associated with an impending outbreak of blister type sore that appear in about a week after prodrome. Hows your hygeine as sounds you may have a genital fungal infection.
