glad you got better answers so you can worry less :)
Hello, I just wanted to give you an update on my condition, turns out you were right and it is geographic tongue. thank you for your help!
google geographic tongue.
continue to follow up with providers as needed. really nothing more I could possibly add at this point about your situation.
White spots on tounge that spread outward leaving a red shallow center with a white ring. Typically occur in same spot and tongue feels hot and burns. Are these symptoms of herpes on tongue? Has been constantly occuring for several months since cold sore on lip which I have always gotten.
Thank you so much for this info, I really hope your right and will take your advice. I'll keep you posted.
herpes symptoms won't linger for months on your tongue. it's doubtful this is herpes if you already had a well established oral hsv1 infection prior to them occurring.
see an ENT specialist if your regular provider is stumped.
Ive also had blood work done which came back normal so I am not immunocomprimised. I know I already have HSV 1 bc I have had cold sores. The sores on my tongue began when I had a cold sore and have never left. I have been under a long period of stress and I am thinking thats why I had such an extensive outbreak. My question is, since I had this will I continue to have these outbreaks on my tongue for the rest of my life?
Are you sure of this? My dr said that that is rare. From what ive read herpes will only effect you on the tongue if you are immunocomprimised, which I am not since I had blood work done. I am thinking i had such an extensive out break bc I have been under a long period of high stress and they started after I had my "regular cold sore"
My dr said she was pretty sure it is HSV. I did a swab when i had the sores for awhile and it came back normal. my dr said the swabs need to be done in the first 48hrs of getting symptoms to be accurate. so i am waiting to do another swab when i first get them.
what was your original testing?
