Herpes or Anxiety?

Here's the story:
Went out to a wedding on 08/06 and met a girl and had sex once, then the condom broke and we kept going anyway and we went at it pretty hard and went to bed.  The next morning, had sex unprotected again.

On Monday, I was feeling terrible about my decisions. At this point I started having a tingling (no pain really, just tingling in my penis tip).  So I went in to my family doctor and he looked over my penis (found nothing) and gave me a urine and blood test.

The tingling kept happening, and I thought at the time this was anxiety, but it went on for 1.5 weeks!  The tingling is gone now since 08/19.

Chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea and HIV were all negative (I received the test results on Wednesday 08/10 for syphilis and HIV and Friday 08/12 for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea).

That Friday when I received my results, I had a small red pimple, really tiny but slightly raised, on the underside of the tip of my penis.  I went back into the doctor freaking out and he said it probably was not herpes and I shouldn't need a swab test.  I asked him if he could do a swab test anyway, and he did -to do that he had to pop it and it hurt slightly while he popped it but no pain afterward - only that darn tingling sensation in the tip of my penis (which I still think was anxiety!).  Now, Sunday came and the spot was all red because I kept picking at it, but has now healed and has a little scar.  Definitely no sign of "cold sore" looking thing, just red like a pimple - but no whitehead.

Then, a second "red dot" formed right at the center of the bottom of my shaft just while the 1st one was healing.  It's a little tiny red pimple, slightly raised, only noticeable if you stretch the skin.  I popped it, and it's still just red.  Doesn't itch or hurt, or even feel like anything.  No whitehead on it, though - and that's what concerns me.

Lastly, I had a blood test taken (IgG) negative <0.91 for HSV1 AND HSV2. Test was done using www.stdalert.com

Should I be concerned about herpes? MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE TINGLING AND THE LACK OF A WHITEHEAD ON THESE 2 LITTLE "ZITS".  PLEASE HELP!!

unfortunately so far you've wasted a lot of money testing far too early :(  You can test for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter. Syphilis after 6 weeks. Herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.

just tingling on the penis head can be many things. Since it's gone now, odds are it was just irritation from the sex act itself.

you've picked at these spots now so really no reason at this point to return to be seen.  These don't hurt or itch and odds are they aren't herpes. don't touch them any more and if they should return, be seen again for an exam. odds are it's just plain pimples, folliculitis or even jock itch going on more than anything else.

Did you ever get a diagnostics for your problem? These symptoms sound identical to what I'm experiencing. I would very much like to know. Thanks

I will go see a urologist.  So no sense in eliminating sex from my life, because this is probably not STI related?

you should follow up with an urologist at this point. no more antibiotics until you've done so.

no reason to think this is herpes at this point.

Grace,

PLEASE HELP - I JUST NEED A LITTLE ADVISE FROM YOU.

I received a blood test at 6 weeks for a Herpes select IgG Antibody test.  Both HSV-1 and HSV-2 were negative <0.91.
I asked for this test because I have a tingling in my penis (it's not constant for more than a few minutes and jumps around my weiner to different locations).  The tingling comes and goes and sometimes is a "jolt" (but the jolt doesn't hurt per-say).  I'm worried that it's Herpes because the tingling lasts probably for 3-7 days, then it's gone for a week or so, then it's back for a 3-7 days again.  I can sometimes feel it in my urethra, other times on the head, other times on the shaft.  This has been going on for 2-1/2 months.  At one point for a week's time it felt like I had to pee constantly, but that went away with a medicine the doc gave me for Trich (even though I tested negative for trich. The medicine for trick tasted terrible, but I don't remember the name..  No bladder problems anymore.
Doxycyline and a Z-pack did not get rid of the "tingling" in my penis.  I also got a shot in the butt, but not sure what that was either.  All tests for the usual STDs were negative at 6 weeks. My doc at the Clap Clinic (he sees all sorts of STD cases all year long) believes it is not herpes, and wants to put me on moxyfloxacin because he says some strains of gonorrhea or chlamydia are resistant to z-packs and doxy and sometimes do not show up in tests.

I have NO signs of herpes except that pimple I talked about in my older posts.  The girl I slept with has no symptoms, but I can't ask her to get tested.

Three questions:
Should I take the moxyfloxacin (it's going to cost a lot of money)?
Does this sound like I'm just a nervous wreck or does it sound like herpes?  Please help - I cannot sleep or eat and this is ruining me!!
I also have twitching throughout my body as of recently (toes, thumb, head, thighs, calves).  I think it's from heavy construction work at my new job and maybe dehydration.  Could twitching relate to herpes?  The twitching does not hurt.

I REALLY APPRECIATE THE FEEDBACK - I FEEL LIKE I'M TURNING INTO A HYPOCHONDRIAC!!

THANK YOU,

Grace,
The tingling sensation I experienced in my previous comment was gone for 3 weeks, but now on the 3rd I started getting the "tingling" again.  It's been here a week (now the 12th).  It's just a tingling in the urethra at the tip of the penis and it's hardly noticeable, but enough so that I have anxiety still about Herpes, etc.  Should I go back and get checked again for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis?  I only ask because you stated:
"unfortunately so far you've wasted a lot of money testing far too early :(  You can test for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter. Syphilis after 6 weeks. Herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months."
Questions:
1. Should I go back and get tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis now that it has been 6 weeks?
2. Should I take an antibiotic to get rid of this tingling?
3. Should I be concerned this could be HSV-1 and/or HSV-2?  I ask because the tingling went away, then came back, but I'm hopeful I do not have Herpes because I have no lesions other than the pimple (which 3 docs have told me NOT to worry about).

I really appreciate your help and the answers to the above, especially an answer to the Herpes question.

THANK YOU, GRACE!!!

The tingling sensation I experienced in my previous comment was gone for 3 weeks, but now on the 09/03/11 I started getting the "tingling" again.  It's been here a week (now 09/12/11).  It's just a tingling in the urethra at the tip of the penis and it's hardly noticeable, but enough so that I have anxiety still about Herpes, etc.  Should I go back and get checked again for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis?  I know I should wait 12 weeks for a HSV-1 and HSV-2 IgG blood test. I only ask because you stated:

It must be just a zit, because it is still there a month later.  Just a little red bump, probably just didn't notice it before examining myself every ten minutes for two weeks straight because of my "scare"
Thanks for the answers, you calmed my anxiety which was BAD at the time.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

I'm surprised that I didn't actually give myself lesions as I was giving myself other symptoms. I would read about pain in the lower back and an hour later I would experience it. Same with abdominal pain and itchiness in extremes.

It's amazing what stress does physiologically to the body.

Anxiety was a major factor I believe - I couldn't stop looking and instantly became a hypochondriac.

Yeah, the swab AND blood tests (HSV1 and HSV2) came back NEGATIVE.  Plus, no pain or itching of any kind.  I was really freaked out, as I heard this girl is easy.  I am going to take this as a sign to be much more careful in my decisions - as this anxiety affected my work and relationships for at least two weeks.

I bought Lamisil AT today and we'll see if that makes the spot go away.

Thanks so much, I'll let you know how the Lamisil AT works.

I experienced the same thing after about five days from having unprotected sex with a stranger. I felt uneasy about it the moment I walked out of there. Five days later the tingling on the end of my penis starts, and it doesn't let up, but no lesions or other symptoms. I called this girl yesterday and got the reaction I was hoping for on her end - shock. I believe that she's truthful when she says that she's never had symptoms (and I feel bad for scaring her). I'm thinking this is just anxiety.
