Herpes or Jock Itch?

Yesterday I began feeling an itchy sensation in my groin/ thigh area. After approximately 3-hrs I checked and I noticed that the general area was red with some areas of skin that had peeled off. I'm assuming that the skin peeled as a result of my pants rubbing because I wasn't scratching. I have an appointment to see a doctor tomorrow but I was hoping to receive some feedback before I go. Here are two images (see links) of the area in question. The first link is from yesterday when I first noticed. The second link is from about an hour ago.

I recently had genital to genital contact with a girl, but there was no penetration. I was also sweating at the time the itching began. Any feedback is appreciated. Again, I have an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow morning. Walked in to the clinic and they couldn't take me till then.

we don't look at pictures here. why not is explained in our read before posting post on the forum.

going to be seen is the best thing you can do. this really sounds like a fungal infection more than herpes but getting it checked out is the most accurate way to find out.  stop back and let us know how your appointment went :)
