Herpes or Lip Balm Allergy? (Pictures included)

That's the rash I've had on my lips for the past couple of months. On some days it's not that noticeable, on others it's even worst.

I was diagnosed with facial herpes after my doctor took a blood test, but something tells me these rashes aren't caused by it. Herpes usually has remission periods between outbreaks, right? It doesn't stay on for months and months at a time. Plus, I've NEVER gotten a cold sore. Never in my life.

Add on to that, it's a known FACT that I'm allergic to chap stick, chap aid, and all the other lip balms Walgreens sells. I'm currently using Vaseline, supposedly "hypoallergenic" but I think I'm allergic to it.

Can anyone out there tell me whether this really is herpes, or if it's just allergies? :(

you can't edit posts.

herpes won't be non-stop for months. see a dermatologist for a 2nd opinion.

You can have oral herpes and also have other things going on. Not everything is oral herpes just because you know you have hsv1. make sense?
