Herpes or Not?? Driving myself crazy

I wanted to see if someone could possibly help me. I’ve been driving myself crazy.  I have about a week and half to the 7-8 week mark to see about herpes but I feel I’m going crazy.

I have been to 2 doctors and a nurse practitioner but I cannot seem to figure out what’s happening.  I have unprotected sex with someone 3 times (vaginally) and 1 anal sex within days between 10/14 and 10/20. I know crazy unprotected and I’m afraid I will pay for it.
The weekend of 10/29 I noticed a very small white bump right next to my clitoris. It could not be popped, no fluid that I noticed, and hurt only at the tip and made my clitoris painful and 1 small bump I noticed by my rectum, popped it, which bleed very little but went away within a day or 2.   I at first didn’t think anything about it.  I went to the first doctor on 11/3, she stated it “didn’t look like herpes” and believe it was a wart. Prescribed Imiquimod cream and doctor said to use up to 16 weeks. I applied the cream twice and Apple Cider Vinegar as I researched that helps as well. The bump disappeared in 2 days.   I thought it was strange, based on what the doctor told me about how long it would take to get rid of the “wart” so I wanted to get a second opinion and now the thought of the “pimple”.  11/10 I went to the second doctor, he said my vaginal area was a bit red and swollen but nothing out of the ordinary.  He also didn’t think there was signs of herpes. He did a wet culture (which I was positive for BV). He also don’t believe the first diagnosis of the “wart” was accurate, due to it going away so fast but couldn’t say it was since it was gone.    STD testing was done at that point - Schillias, HSV 1 & 2 with both IGG and IGM - only positive was HSV1 which is very common, HIV, CHLAMYDIA, and GONORRHOEAE – all came back negative. He prescribed Metronidazole 500 MG 2 times a day for the BV. I’ve done the cream version of that medication previous to this and no issues.  Usually I get a yeast infection after antibiotics so when I had a lot of “moisture” I tried over the counter yeast infection medication – that made my area burn. The few days after starting this medication, my anus started to hurt, itch, as well. I was getting worried at this point.
After all of this, I went to the nurse practitioner on 11/18, in tears as I’m still very uncomfortable, never having these issues before of itching, no lesions, and pain in my anus and not knowing what I’m dealing with.  She looked and said she doesn’t see any lesions, cuts, etc. but with nothing there, it’s difficult to say herpes. She did say, some people show little signs and basically said I have to wait it out the time and do blood tests at this point, unless I get a full lesion to test.  She said my area looked a normal color (maybe a bit pink) and I did have a hemorrhoid (I’ve never had issues with hemorrhoids before, even with anal sex previously). She said keep an eye out for the flare up of BV.
Even after all of this – I’m still getting “pinch” feelings in my anus and still feel the twitch or itch on 11/22. Everything I read, herpes comes up everywhere and can go unnoticed or very little symptoms – with the unexplained itching, or twitching, it’s driving me crazy. I haven’t been sick and no pain anywhere except the itching and uncomfortable.   Can this be herpes and getting a mild case or am I worrying myself to death?? Every little tiny bump, I’m freaking out. I know at this point, only a blood test can prove anything – but will 7-8 weeks second test be enough to say one way or another?? It just seemed I was fine between the last encounter with this partner the week of 10/20 and 11/3 – and it blew up after that.  If not herpes, I have no clue what I'm dealing with ????

P.S. I was finally able to get ahold of the person I was with. He answered on 11/19 that he doesn’t have STD’s and never has. With never dealing with these issues before, I’m not sure what to believe with him

Honestly, I seriously doubt hsv. Hsv outbreaks especially the primary outbreak would be incredibly rare without lesions. Teri Warren a very well respected hsv expert says she saw only around 3 cases in all her years of owning or working a very busy std clinic. Only three cases where hsv had no lesions present for outbreaks.

Hey there,

I posted a similar story to yours just a couple of hours earlier. Basically I can relate. I had protected sex with a guy who exhibited no symptoms of herpes or any other STD. A few months later I started getting these tears in my perineum. Went to a GUM clinic three times, saw three different doctors and they all said the same thing: tears don't look like herpes, chance is too low, no need for any other herpes test.

Problem is, I'm still going insane over it, keep checking my bits several times a day in the mirror. I also had itching around my anus, but this was after shaving that area so not sure if it was related. Every shaving pimple that I get gets me paranoid. Not a good place to be in. Mentally speaking.

Anyway, I did some research (but don't take my word for it) and came across something called "vulval candidiasis" which is basically external thrush. Some of the symptoms include tenderness, itching, dry skin, sometimes even mild tearing. Because I had regular yeast infections before, I treated it with over the counter thrush medicine. So far (a week later) my itching/tenderness went away and I have not torn either. If you are prone to yeast infections, I would mention this to your doctor.

Another thing...do try to stay off google (says the hypocrite who drives herself crazy from over researching >.<). Seriously! There are so many conflicting stories about herpes that can drive you (and me) crazy. I have read the answers of some doctors who claim that having protected sex with someone who doesn't exhibit herpes symptoms makes the risk almost non existent, while other medical articles claim that herpes is super contagious even if there are no symptoms present and if protection is used. The point is, ANY sexual encounter is somewhat risky, be it protected or unprotected.

Warts are not puss filled in any way (I think). They're more like skin tag sort of things so if you managed to pop it, I think it's unlikely to be a wart.

If you are super worried, then a blood test is a good idea, even if just to reassure you that you are fine. If I get another tear or dubious symptom, I am planning to do the same thing--go in and demand a blood test (or go completely insane from worrying).

I have my fingers crossed for you that everything will be okay. I know how stressful this can be.

Xx

I still have this issue going on and i cannot seem to get to the bottom of what it is.
I have irritation, pintcing feeling which I heard Herpes can come up in a mild case like this. Its strange because I could "feel" better in the morning and the irritation gets worse as the day goes on. Or if I lay down, the pain is not there.

I have alot of discomfort when Im sitting on my buttock area, right next to the vaginal area. but again, I dont feel it when I'm laying down

I am waiting for my 7th week test result for HSV2, my anxiety is through the roof, this could be herpes and just having a mild case.
