Herpes or stds from using a friends lip balm who might have a disease.

Last Sunday my gay friend hooked up with another guy who he didn’t know. They used a condom but my friend doesn’t know if he has any std or hiv. They kissed and my friend didn’t notice any cold sore or bumps on the guys lips and my friend didn’t have any cuts in his lips. The next day my friend used his lip balm but did not apply it directly onto his lips, keep in mind that he had just opened the lip balm it was new. After he applied the balm with his finger onto his lip, I used the lip balm directly onto my lips. If my friend did get something from the guy he had hooked up do I have a chance of getting it too? If my friend did get something, would have the disease spread quickly enough to his lips since it have been less than 24 hours. I haven’t noticed any cold sores or bumps on my lips but I am very paranoid.

What you described is zero risk. The only posible way a chapstick can spread oral hsv is if someone uses it and has a cold sore and then you use it immediately after. Even then the risk us incredibly low. A finger is safe no matter what. You are fine and no need to think on it anymore.
