Herpes (oral sex)

After receiving oral sex my partner told me she has genital herpes. Am i at risk of getting herpes from her mouth even though she has herpes on her genitals only. She told me she never had an outbreak on her mouth and lips. But she had regular outbreaks on her genitals before taking daily meds for her herpes. How worried should i be? I am freaking out right now!

you  have to have contact with a partner's genital area in order to contract their genital herpes.

ok thank you. What about transfer? If i touched her genitals then mine? I dont really remember if i did before i washed my hands or after.. How contagious is it?

I'm just wondering. How can she be sure she doesnt have herpes on the mouth area? It could be dormant right?

your risk of contracting hsv2 from her with only avoiding sex when she has genital symptoms present is 4% over the course of an entire year.

statistically 1 out of every 2-3 people you've ever kissed or received oral sex from has oral herpes. do you typically worry about herpes from oral sex?  have you ever been tested to know your own status?

Wow that is amazing! I didnt typically worry about herpes from oral sex but i will now. How can i get tested? Is there a reliable blood test?
