Herpes paranoia

Hello Doctor first let me thank you for your help

In July 2013 I had protected oral and vaginal inter course with a CSW a moment I hate myself for. I was very drunk and do not know how much the condom was covered over my penis but I did 100% use one.

I had an 8 weeks HIV rapid and then  full hiv blood tests at 8 weeks. They all came back negative.

5 days after the Event I experienced eczema on my penis so an itchy rash causing raised fleshy bumps which went away successfully with the use of urea cream I went to an std clinic 5 days after the event because of the rash she diagnosed it as eczema as I had been on holiday and said it was down to the sun and nothing looked wrong with my penis I had a chlamydia test and that was fine.

A few weeks later I then developed what have been called sebaceous cysts below my belly button and above my public area. I noticed these almost directly after sex with my girlfriend. They were raised fleshy bumps that we're sore to touch  but I could feel a ball underneath which I could move around and itch a little they were the size of a peanut and did not blister or anything like that. I experienced no discharge from my urethra, pain when passing urine etc. was they sebaceous cysts or the first outbreak of herpes ?

I have been having regular sex with my girlfriend and been producing red painless itch less dots on my penis head that sometimes turn to whiteheads and with research through posts on this site I'm happy to say it is from friction as no picture of herpes comes close and the fluctuation of them only ever occurs after sex or masturbation really.

I have a girlfriend who this is why I am concerned with the matter as I do not want to be passing anything to her!

She has been complaining of pain when passing urine and is to see a urologist tomorrow but this could be due to a severe kidney infection that hospitalised her for a week in October /November last year could that any indicator ?

Again, I think the risk of contracting herpes in this situation is very low.  If you tested negative for herpes antibody at 8 weeks, there is about a 70% chance your results at 4 months will also be negative.  Usually herpes does not present with a flatish rash all over the penis but rather blisters that break and make scabs is the usual herpes presentation.  The urge to urinate is unlikely related to herpes as well.

This is my final post on this thread.

One more doc I do apologise

4) I feel like I have an urge to urinate a lot throughout the day is this suggestive of anything or could this be because of anxiety I hadn't really noticed any now until the last week or so since I've become paranoid of herpes

So just to clarify doc finally no more questions after this so I can move on

1) the encounter was a very low risk one maybe close to zero would you say with the use of a condom for herpes or any other std as I say tested neg at 8 weeks for HIV and chlamydia.

2) the rash on my penis the doctor was happy to say was eczema, was situated all over my penis really it didn't have like a key area where it had affected it was quite spread out and responded to urea cream within say 4 days again would this sound like eczema as it wasn't a single rash it was spread out as I've read herpes doesn't really spread too much apart from it's origin of the rash/sore etc. is it possible for a rash but no sores with herpes? Or should I not be bothering as it was diagnosed as eczema after 5 days of the encounter?

3)do you think I am overreacting with this i do suffer with anxiety because  it has been months now and no real sign of anything?

Okay thank you very much for your help. So it is highly unlikely that I could have caught HSV-2 from the encounter with the CSW ? And even better odd s given I've still not encountered any herpetic symptoms and wore a condom?

Thanks again doctor

Good that you saw someone to have these examined.  Your symptoms don't sound herpetic to me, but you would need testing to know whether or not you have herpes.  You do not need symptoms at the time of testing (it is a test for antibody, not virus)

I seen a doctor about the cysts and he didn't seem too confident in knowing what they were he said they could be glands or cysts but didn't really seem like herpes I also seen a doc about the eczema and she was happy it was that due to warm climate, sun from holiday etc does all that sound right ? Are any of my symptoms consistent with herpes or just anxiety fuelled

I have not had a test nope as I have had no real symptoms that being no lesions occur. I do not think they are molluscum I have researched it and I'm happy it isn't as there is no indentation to the dots. They aren't always white they are red and sometimes form a little whitehead spot, tiny. Like a shaving irritation on the face and it goes after a few days. What do you think of the possible cyst ? It was a raised skin like bump no puss no blister it itched a little and felt like it had a sac of something underneath it which could be moved this was below my belly button and above my pubic area could that be first outbreak of herpes?

I think I am overreacting and like you said the chances are very slim

I think the chances of you getting herpes in the encounter are very slim indeed.  However, the skin bumps you describe could be something called molluscum.  Have you looked that up on the internet?  These are sexually transmitted via skin to skin contact and condoms don't prevent them.  However, they are not painful at all.

Have you actually had an antibody test for herpes since this encounter?

I get mild shooting pains in my buttocks and sides sometimes to I do not know how long this has been going for. I have not developed any lesions I don't know whether to put this down to severe anxiety and guilt as I went through this same cycle with when I had convinced myself I had HIV. What would the chances of me catching herpes ? And if so would I have shown any other symptoms now after 6 months ? I have cold sores could they mask the hsv2?
