I am a 26 y/o male and had sex with a female prostitute from Thailand 2 weeks ago.
day 0: sex, condom broke. Afterwards, washed penis several times with soap and dried it with a hairdryer
day 1: panic, started PEP (Trizivir)
day 6: tip of penis was very dry, looked a bit flaky, that night I felt ill (I thought this was the pep, as I wasn't feeling well all week)
day 7: tip of penis ok
day 12: itchy sensation in urethra, no lesions up to this day, no burning when peeing
day 14: today, still having an itchy sensation, still no lesions
- I am circumsized
- the itch is rather mild, but is always there (it also stays in my mind...)
1) what is the change I contracted herpes? (suppose the condom broke for 5 minutes before noticing)
2) does washing help against Herpes? some sources say it does, other say it doesn't
3) is a itchy urethra a sign of herpes?
4) what else can this itch be? Soap? other STDs?
5) what is the chance of HIV transmission?
washing up after sex doesn't do anything but make you less sticky. std's don't lay on the skin to work their way into the body over time - they are transmitted during the sex act itself so after the fact is too late. You can actually give yourself a chemical urethritis from getting soap and other chemicals into the urethra when scrubbing up after a sexual encounter.
since you had a condom break, you should follow up with proper std testing at the proper times. You can test for chlamydia, gonorrhea, trich and ngu any time after 1 week post encounter. you can test for syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.
odds are you irritated your penis or even have a fungal infection going on. you need to follow up on this with your provider while covering your testing bases properly. nothing about your symptoms sounds like herpes going on and odds are it's not even a std.
I am now on day 16 and have experienced the following:
- still itchy urinal tract
- urinating helps the itch
- pressure on lower back
- I feel constipated, stool is quite hard
- had a dull pain in my upper thigh (left)
- dull pain in testicles
all the pains were easily bearable.
Can these things be signs of herpes?
I am so worried, when you look online, I can only find contradictory information it seems :/
Everything is a symptom...
please help me out here..
