Herpes risk with waxing?

Hi,

I do not have herpes, but am curious about STD risk.  I am interested in going to a salon to get a full body wax, including all of "those" intimate areas.  However, I have heard there is a risk for STD's when waxing including herpes.  Some people have stated the risk comes from unsanitary practices, one being double dipping sticks in the wax before applying and waxing.  I am wondering what the consensus is on this?  Is there a a herpes risk or any kind of std risk involved here?  As I said before, it's a full body wax and I am very paranoid.  Please share your thoughts.  Thanks.

Thank you for your response.  That makes me feel more comfortable.  I guess I am confused about the different opinions online that suggest herpes and std transmission is possible with waxing by "double dipping."

Thanks again.  I'm glad that was cleared up.

Hi and welcome. Not a risk for any std. The hot wax  would kill any germs as well.
