Herpes scare, how do i tell if i have symptoms or its all mental?

2 weeks ago i took part in a bachelor party, one of the strippers perforned oral on me (unprotected). she did not have any visible lesions or bleeding, but i panicked as a week later developed balanitis, ever since, i have been obsessed and have read every article on herpes. After learning of prodrome, i have felt everyrhing from tingling to burning on my lips and genital area. Until now, no bumps, sores, lesions, only irritation and burning sensation that for the most part comes and goes. My biggest fear is that i can transmit anything to my SO, i have visited my physician who has informed me that the risk is low but not out of the question, testing wont show anything until after 2 months. Im deathly terrified that i may have caught herpes, and am avoiding everyone and alienating myself. Am i right to panic?

For a primary tbe first thing you would most likely notice is lesions forming. The problem with reading symptoms lists when you don't have a firm grasp of how the virus works is understanding the context of the symptoms. Prodrome is the sensations you will experience when the vurus is making it's way along the nerve oath back to the surface. That's why those symptoms appear a day or so before an outbreak. A primary outbreak doesn't have this as the virus us already there.

So these "symtpoms" of burning and tingling lips could be all mental? I am stressing beyond reason here. Thanks again for the responses.
How do you figure you contracted oral hsv from her performing oral sex on you?
I panicked because of guilt i guess, this was my first time doing anything this wild. The girl had no visible sores, i just got this idea that she might have something and not show or say anything, and as you mentioned earlier once i read the symptoms list i began to panic and of course some symptoms began to manifest, not any sores or lesions. Im trying to calm myself a bit, i know blood testing is useless right now so thats also what causes my anxiety. Sorry for the long response.
Oh, sorry, avoided the question altogether, she did kiss me a number of times.

I did, i went in because i thought the redness was associated with herpes. They diagnosed balanitis, they also swabbed for my piece if mind but assured me it was probably not that.

Thus surely doesn't sound like herpes and 21 days past exposure would be very rare. You won't get any prodrome symptoms with a primary outbreak. You are over stressing an extremely low risk encounter with no actual symptoms.

Only been 14 days, oh ok, i read you can get sensations beforehand. I do appreciate the responses, make me feel i might be over stressing and overthinking it.

I havent noticed any lesions at all, but im not sure if me overthibking things has me feeling "symptoms", and as far as the balanitis, does your foreskin (I'm uncut) get irritated at times? I feel like theres a cut, but nothing visual, sometimes it stings, sometimes it doesnt bother. I'm just really atressed over this, i did see that an outbreak would occur anywhere between 6 to 21 days, i still have 1 week of anxiety.

I'm circumcised and I felt what felt like little cuts after experiencing anything that caused friction on the penis. It even could be felt inside the penis. If you area treating with cream the cream can cause irritation as well. I ended up way over treating mine as I thought I said symptoms of balantis still but it turned out the cream was just irritating my penis. Keep that in mind. If using cream I'd use it for three weeks and stop if you still have irritation for a week and see if it clears

If you have not formed lesions in over two weeks since exposure I'm very confident you don't have herpes. Most infections show lesions in the first few days rarely in 20 days. Also the odds are so low you would catch herpes from a one time oral exposure it's pretty much zero chance. Burning sensation that comes and goes is related to balantis. Friction really irritates it. I suffered from balantis for 3 months.
