Herpes simplex 1 clarification.

I had made out with a girl who had herpes simplex 1 and 2. We were touching heavily, she chaffed me on the side of my foreskin and it was raw, she performed fellatio afterwards. She did not have an outbreak of either simplex 1 or 2. We did engage in mutual masturbation but did not have intercourse. Our genitals did not come in contact. I figure that I probably got (or already had a very mild) simplex 1 some years ago because cold sores come and go about every year. My question is: what are the odds that I have contracted simplex 2 from the chaffed skin and her fellatio. I had read other topics that said that herpes is only in the skin and my partner told me that she "could only pass it during a flare-up." Searching for warning signs online has not proved helpful since my penis has been chaffed and the feelings of "itchiness" and "tingling" come with the injury. The symptoms might be real, but I cannot differentiate chafing pain and psychosomatic pain. Will the chaffed skin turn a different color if I have been infected?
