Herpes symptoms

Hello
About 2 and a half years ago I briefly received oral sex from a sex worker. It was a once off. Had brief protected vaginal sex. I did post on the site to Dr Hunter and took his advice and forgot about it. However about 2 months ago I got a rash on the tip of my penis which went away quickly. It came back about 3 weeks ago. It is a flat red rash almost like a sore but definitely not a blister. I have no pain or any other symptoms at all. I went to my gp today who said it wasn't herpes. It isn't syphilis as I was tested about 6 months after the incident. Given the length of time and the fact the rash/sore is not blister like is it possible its herpes. Also can the doctors visual exam be relied upon.

Thanks for any help

Just reread my post. The first time it didn't fully go away. I had put it down to rough masturbation at the time. My wife gets thrush. Could it be this ?

Hi Dave. Thanks for answer. Have looked at every image I can see and every description. None match. Timeline is wrong. Was wondering as there is some conflicting info - with herpes is it always a blister type sore. The ones I have are not raised and while are angry looking are not filled with liquid at all. Sore to touch but not sore by themselves. Not in a cluster and are at the tip of the penis. Syphilis is ok as I was tested 2 years ago - 6 months after the event. Cheers
