Herpes transmision and pregnancy

Hello there, I was recently diagnosed via swab with genital herpes type 1. I was wondering, if my husband was the one who infected me through oral sex, what are the chances I will infect him genitally? Also we are planning to have children, not in any time soon, but in maybe 3 or 4 years, what complications might there be in the pregnancy or birth?? I believe HSV1 is less infectious and shed asymptomatically very few days, but what are the real risks on pregnancy and in the actual delivery??
I really apreciate any advise given.
Thanks

Odds are it wouldn't be too "bad" at all since he already has hsv1 in his body to give him antibodies to combat it.

Hi again grace, thanks a lot for all the info and reassurance that you give to everyone.
I had another question if you dont mind.... I know genital to genital transmission of hsv1 is pretty rare, and if your partner already has hsv1 orally its ever harder to transmit, but let say that happens, how bad would my partners first outbreak be?? Mine was the worst burning and pain I have experienced, would his be as bad, or already having hsv1 means it would be a minor outbreak?

Thanks

no it is not. hpv is the cause of most cervical cancers, not hsv.

Thank you very much for the information.
Also I have read somewhere that genital herpes has been linked to cervical cancer, is this true??

All you have to do is avoid sex anytime you have obvious genital symptoms. That's all the precautions you have to take. He has significant protection against contracting hsv1 genitally from you if he already has it orally.

The risk of transmitting your herpes to the baby during delivery is less than 1% if you don't have any obvious genital lesions present at the time. If you do have active lesions present, a c section will be performed.
