Herpes

My daughter has just got herpes - she ended a relationship and went into another - Is there a test out there like a DNA test or something that can determine whom gave it to her - she has only been with the 2 and not at the same time.  he ex of 1 1/2 yrs showed no signs but after the broke up he told her that he has herpes - although she never seen any signs of it - the man she is with now - how the symptoms - she is torn and really would like to know exactly whom gave them to her.  Is there anything out there to pin point who she got herpes from???

no, there is not a test that can tell exactly who she got it from.

If one of her partners tests negative for hsv2, then she knows she didn't get it from that partner. If both of her partners test + for hsv2, no way to know which one infected her.

make sure she reads the free herpes handbook by Terri Warren or picks up her book "the good news about the bad news" on amazon. Both are terrific resources for her to better understand her infection so she can deal with it and keep the risk of transmission to future partners minimal.

Hi and welcome. Tell us about the test report as the numbers could infer old or recent infection.
