A littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys over 3 months ago I had unprotected sexBuccal smear Causes of sexual dysfunction Child abuse - sexual Delayed ejaculation Erection problems Female sexual dysfunction Inhibited sexual desire Orgasmic dysfunction Puberty and adolescence Rape Safe sex (one night stand) with a girl of unkown HSV status. It was a mistake and I regeret it terribly. She has had many partners in the past (confirmed by mutual acquantainces that I trust). This past week I discovered a very dark red bump on the underside of my scrotum. I had shaved the area the day prior to this discovery but have never had something like this appear in the past. The next day I was really freaked out and ripped it to see if there was a hair inside (which there wasn't) and it bled quite a abit. The day after it looked like a red bump with a white blister on top that I think was probably due to the fact that I had cutCuts and puncture wounds the area, but it looked a lot like a herpes bump (although painless and not itchy), which scared me and it took 10 days to heal over completely leaving a small mark/scar where it was. I went to the doctor but was unable to go until after it had pretty much healed. He said it was probably an ingrownIngrown toenail hair but I've never had anything like this appear on my scrotum prior to this.
I was tested at 1 month post to exposure and got tested at the 3 month mark. Both came back negative for both types. This bump has worried me considerably though. Prior to discovering this bump I rationalized that negative tests combined with no symptoms meant I was probably okay... Now that I've what what could be considered symptoms, I'm worried that I may not have seroconverted yet. The blood I had drawn for the test was taken at about 2 months and 3 weeks. How can I find out with finality that I don't have herpes?
being negative that far into things makes it very unlikely it's due to herpes. Your provider who also say your symptoms doesn't think it's herpes either. No reason to suspect otherwise just because you can.
Oh okay. He didn't actually see it, just saw the mark it left (scar) and what I told him. II thought that symptoms could appear any time and I thought the conventional wisdom was that a negative result before 3-4 months wasn't that meaningful, only a positive one.
I think also that herpes doesn't regularly appear on the scrotum. Does anyone know why that is? Someone said it was because it usually appears wherever the virus went into your skin (usually the shaft/head) but if thats the case then why is the thigh or butt a typical place for herpes?
if you are still concerned - continue to follow up on this with your provider.
At this point there's nothing else we can really do but guess unless you get a confirmed herpes lesion culture. Taking this long to seroconvert would be unusual so it's time to start thinking other causes. Since this is a herpes forum - we can't really help you much more.
