Herpes?

by concern333, Jun 27, 2009 02:59AM
So I have had this rash in the area of my bikini line for a while now and I am starting to get worried. There are many red bumps that have a white all in the area of where my pubic hair is. None of these bumps have appeared on my actual vagina and then do not crust up and disappear. I do shave the entire area and I am wondering if it sounds like herpes or maybe even folliculitis...........................

Irritation from shaving the bikini line is extremely common, and your symptoms sound like just that. Folliculitis can occur if the hair follicle gets infected. You could get it checked out, but it's more likely it's irritation from shaving than herpes symptoms, especially if it's been there "for a while" as you've stated.
