hey i had had a herpeselect test at 6 weeks after exposure with a women positive for herpes type 2 and 3 months after exposure with the same women i did the test at quest using HSV 1/2 IGG HERPESELECT TYPE SPECIFIC AB the only symtoms (symptoms) ive had are on my left thigh/leg i get aches on it i dont no if thats a symtom but no sores or nothing else.so is this test accurate enuff for herpes type 2 or do i need to retest because i herd u have to wait 4 monts or even 6 months can u please help me.
u could retest in another 2 months. I see that your type 1 positive. I mean its possible that your type 1 antibodies are fighting your type 2 virus but at 3 months i would think your body would of build up some antibodies by now. I think your negative for type 2 honestly. I had the herpes select test to. I believe that test is pretty accurate.
The herpeselect is the only currently offered herpes blood test that is accurate at 3 months. You are a clear negative so no reason for further testing. The odds of you contracting hsv2 are pretty low to begin with.
You should follow up on the leg/thigh pain with your provider to find out what is causing it.
so as u can see my test scores are almost the same but im wondering if im one of the few that take longer to seroconvert im only 19yrs old so i dont know if older people take longer or what but i herd it could even take 6 months or more so how many people acutally have conclusive herpes test at 3 months post exposure.
The herpeselect is 98% accurate - why keep thinking you have genital herpes when thigh and leg pain can be caused by so many other things? Just pain and no obvious lesions isn't likely to be herpes.
you see i see u saying diffrent things dr.hook its like all you guys say diffrent things i herd seen that 6 weeks its 70% and then the doctor hook says 90% i mean its like what or who do i belive
