How HSV 1 is dangerous?

I used to get "cold sores" usually twice in every six months. Now I am suffering from itchy and burning vagina with white discharge. I did my blood test for STD and found out I have type 1 HSV. Its about 3 months I have no sores but still my vagina is burning so bad. I want to be pregnant but I scare. How safe is it to be mom with HSV 1?, what are the effects of this infection in my future health? Do I be able to get rid of this? I am really upset. This is the first time I am bearing this situation.As far in case of my husband I have never known he has some infection and don't think either. I have no sexual contact except my husband. My profession is as a care giver for the old people.

did they do any testing for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally?
