I am just wondering how accurate Herpes Simplex test for HSV 1 and 2 are? Should I get ab Herpes IGG type specific test instead? can you explain the difference? and how accurate the 2 are?
the test I had was herpes simplex type 1 and 2 test which came back negative. should I take a different test like the IgM or IGG to be sure? how reliable is the herpes simplex test? sorry i could not find those answers on the page.
is it advisable that this test is not specific? should I take another test? my doctor gave no "numbers" nor did I ask for them. She just said your negative. She also said shes seen a lot of Herpes in her life. This was my physician. Should I trust I took a reliable test? or did I not? Basically I want to know if I should get another one done since mine was a herpes simplex test and really how reliable is that one? if at all?
I'm going to be honest here - you don't understand the testing and it's confusing you. You had a type specific test done if I recall ( no way I"m going thru all your prior posts you have to look for when you posted it but I"m sure I looked at it and congratulated you on it being negative correct? ). You had the right test done from what I recall.
No one seems to think that you have herpes but you. when will you let go of this? really many times yeast really is yeast or whatever vaginitis issue you had.
No you didn't look at my results since all i knew where that my doctor said it was "negative" I wasn't given and numbers and I am not sure if there are numbers involved in Herpes Simplex Tests but I kow I wasn't told of any.... and the test I was given was a Herpes Simplex Test I am just concerned really now of knowing my status and if this was not a reable test or not and If I should take it again since I have heard the Herpes Simplex tests arent? I am sorry to be annoying I just would really like your opinion on this last post. Thank you again.
If you still have questions about the test you were given, please call your provider and talk to them and ask more questions like if it was type specific, if they know if it was the captia test or the herpeselect. I really can't ascertain anything more to help you from what you've posted here. If you had either of the tests I mentioned then you were properly tested.
You are following up with a thorough work up from your gyn from the sounds of things from your other posts. No reason to doubt your diagnosis at this point. Please do not let your anxiety get the better of you.
