How accurate is IGM negative?

Hi,

I had unprotected sex with a woman on Jan 14th. On Feb 6th, I found a bump on the tip of my penis, where the pee hole is. It burns when I urinate, however, I don't have any other symptoms of herpes, such as flu or muscle aches.On Feb 11th, I went to Lapcorp and got a syphilis and herpes test. I have just got off the phone with Lapcorp and they told me that all my tests, including IGM and IGG turned out to be negative. I have read several posts stated by the doctors that IGM tests are unreliabe. However, how unreliabe is it when the IGM result is negative? Thank you

Forget totally about the IGM Test but he did say your IGG Test was negative and that's the important one. As far as your bump, it definitely could be herpes but hard to say BUT the time frame is off. The incubation period is only 2 to 20 days with 20 being pretty damn long before an outbreak but typically within a week. What does this bump look like? All this other stuff about flu's and muscle aches are not requirements for an outbreak.

Have you followed up with your provider for this? Have they done any tests other than a herpes and syphillis (syphilis) blood test?
