How do I deal with my boyfriend?

I found out last week that I have hsv2. I have been with my boyfriend for over a year-and-a-half now. He was tested this week and his results came back negative. So now I am having to deal with the fact that I have it and he does not yet. Even though we have had unprotected sex this whole time. Of course I don't want him to get it but I feel different about our relationship now. Like I am dirty and he is clean. It's a lot of emotions to deal with all at once.

I started taking Valtrex and I'm not sure if it is agreeing with my system either. Does anyone have any experience with side effects from it?

I've read that igm aren't reliable! Get the igg type specific blood test!

First question. How where you diagnosed and if it was by blood test which test and what was your numeric value? Be specific

It was a blood test.
Herpes simplex 1 0.10 index
Herpes simplex 2 > 5.00 index

The igm was 1.71 index but I was told not to look at that.

He also had a blood test and it only came back with negative
