Another question. How do I know if I get internal outbreaks? Will I feel those?
Thanks for the info!!! I get paranoid.
More often than not, genital hsv would be painful to the touch.
Thank you life360!!! I never have "pain" but sometimes have some discharge that makes me "irritated". That's been a lifelong thing. But I don't know because you read so much about how people don't know they are having an outbreak. Is it usually painful to he touch?
If you have a long term herpes, stopping the meds would not make any difference, only would keep the numbers lower than they might be. Its up to you about taking them but your concern is noted. Taking meds would reduce the risk by 50% so you should not worry to much about passing it. Genital itching in itself is more a symptom of a bacterial or fungal infection than of herpes. Herpes is most describe as blister or razor type cuts. but could appear as most anything.
I wanted the meds because my boyfriend is negative. I want to keep it that way. I will get retested. Should i stay off the meds for awhile before I he retested? But to answer my original question..... Should I worry about outbreaks if I'm not having the common symptoms? People say it can just be itching or irritation. And if I'm taking meds and don't have frequent outbreaks, is it a low chance that I will pass it on?
People take antivirals who have frequent outbreaks. What i would do at this point is to retest and if youve been taking these for a year and never had a confirmed outbreak it was not the correct procedure from day one.
I can't remember the test because it's been a year now. I have thought about being retested I know the test that the doctor gave did not have a number range. They said it was just negative or positive. I've been on anti virals for almost a year now. Every time I have an itch or irritation I wonder if it's an outbreak. It drives me crazy!!!! I went to planned parenthood once when I had a little sore to conform if it was an outbreak and she said she would know by looking at it and they don't do cultures. That's so stupid to me. She looked at it and said she didn't know but because I had a positive blood test, it must be. She said she could tell by looking at it but she couldn't. Still no real answers.
Hi, lets start with the tests you have as many times there are false positives. Please tell us what blood test you had and any numbers involved.
