How long can Herpes last?

About 2.5-3 months ago, red dots and sores appeared around my thighs near my scrotum. I assumed this was herpes, however, they haven't gone away. They occasionally fade and form new ones, but it is always within hours. Can this be herpes?

this isn't herpes going on. have you been seen yet? sounds like either a fungal infection or folliculitis. go and have it checked out and properly evaluated.
