You can have ob's anywhere in the entire "boxer short" area as we refer to it as no matter what kind of sexual contact you have. It is all the same nerve group and the virus can travel freely on it. You don't have to have anal contact to have ob's on the upper butt crack where you have had it.
You had a lesion culture so you know you have hsv2. Do you have a regular partner and if so, have they been tested yet to know their status?
When should you resume sexual activity? If your partner also has hsv2, you can resume it whenever you feel comfortable. If you don't have a regular partner, wait until the skin has healed. You will still perhaps see a discoloration in the skin for a time but once you can run your finger over the skin and not feel obvious lesions, it's ok to resume sex.
Have you and your provider discussed treatment?
If you haven't already, be sure to google the free herpes handbook by Terri Warren and read through it. It will tell you a lot about living with herpes.
keep asking questions!!
May I ask did you have anal sex. Because it seems pretty rare to have your first outbreak in that area from regular.
There is no open wound. This this mean it has healed. It is in such an awkward place on my body. I'm not sure if there would even be any skin to skin contact or oral to mouth contact ( I am a female)
Ok. You can resume sex when the sores have healed.
It came back Positive for hsv2
Let's first find out what's going on.
