Please help me understand my hiv 1/2 igg test. My story is short. Same partner for the last 8 years. Neither ever had or shown a symptom for anything. 2 children together and was clear on standard std testing. We separated 6 months ago. For the last 3 months I've been orally active with another man. He has never sexy ally touched me. A week after I gave him oral he said he got a burning sensation in his groin. He tested negative for everything. I went and tested.
Hiv 1 and 2 antibodies came back non reactive
Hiv 1 came back with a 32.0 index
hiv 2 came back with a 1.63 index.
Still have no signs or symptoms of anything other then mind screwing myself.
Please someone explain this to me. All my other tests were negative
Wait until 12-16 weeks for herpes and syphilis testing.
Also I am planning to take a complete test again on 11th week. Is that time would be right a time to test ???
Thanks Grace. I will close out other post.
your other post showed that they did also do a type specific herpes igg blood test and both were negative but since the testing was done far too early, it will need repeated at the appropriate time.
Today i got the negative results for all STD testing & including HIV. However i have the following questions, can you please clarify on the same.
1. How reliable HIV test after 30 days of post exposure( for my case HIV 1/2 Antigen/ antibody 4th generation test)
2.I can see the following in test results
* HSV 1/2 IGG Herpes Select AB 4.70 - Out of range. What does this mean?* Also In first page it shows IN Range is 0.13 & 0.05.
3.Do i need to retest after 6 weeks to get an accurate results?
I am bit confused can you please clarify these.
Hi, its 90% reliable and 8 weeks post exposure is a good indicator.
You can repeat syphilis testing after the 6 week mark, herpes, hepatitis and hiv after 3 months post encounter to have accurate testing done.
You had a combined herpes igg blood test done which is not helpful at all. There is no way to know if you were + due to hsv1 or hsv2. When you repeat your testing, make sure type specific herpes igg blood testing is ordered.
