Husband's negative, I was positive

I have recently tested positive for HSV. I have gotten tested every year since 2007, and have never been positive before (with blood tests and cultures). The most recent test before the positive results was just 5 months before with negative results.  I've only only slept with one person (my husband) for 5 years. Now my husband is saying he hasn't slept with anyone is and his (bloodwork) test results are negative. How could this be?

HSV1 or HSV2? If HSV1, realize that as oral herpes it's not an STD. Why the testing every year?

It would be best if you could get your test results and post the numeric values here for us to help you with. You want to be sure you had the proper test done, and also weren't given misinformation as to the results.
