and asked her if she had any history of STDs and she said she did not. Well it is now 3-4 months after the fact and I noticed a small bump on the top portion of the shaft of my penis
. I do plan on going to get tested asap, but I was just trying to figure out how bad it is. I know you probably get this type of question a lot.
So the painless bump, (even if i touch it, it doesn't hurt) is about a millimeters wide and it never turned into an open sore or blister. It feels kind of hard like a small grain of sand or so. I have had it for about a week - week and a half now without any other symptons, but just last night/this morning, I have been having abdominal pains, stomach swelling
. I would think that if these symptoms were related with one another they would show up at the same time and not after a week and a half of having this bump. I also have no swollen glands. I did scratch the bump a little bit and it seemed to act like a pimple, but then I have heard mild symptoms of genital herpes could look/feel like pimples. I am pretty worried it is genital herpes.
I figured that would be the response. I did recently get my results back for Herpes test.
Herpes Simplex 1
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Types I and II Specific Antibodies, IgG
HSV-1 aB IgG
4.10 H
POSITIVE
Herpes Simplex 2
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Types I and II Specific Antibodies, IgG
HSV-2 aB IgG
<0.90
NEGATIVE
For some reason i did not receive a number for the HSV-2 IgG test, but it says I am negative. I am also pretty sure that I have had a single outbreak of mouth cold sores when I was younger so that would explain the positive reading for HSV1 (i think).
I am pretty sure the case of me having genital herpes is pretty closed, but I was just curious on the statistics of receiving genital herpes from HSV-1 orally. Also does the number that comes back with the test actually mean anything? Also since it has been at least 3 months, almost 4 since my last possible exposure, I am assuming it is safe to not worry about getting tested for Herpes again anytime soon. Can you please confirm this.
Correct, not worth more herpes testing from the sounds of things. were you seen for your rash? if so, what did they tell you they thought it was?
Having hsv1 orally gives you significant protection from contracting it genitally. It can happen but odds are it won't.
the numeric results have little meaning other than for hsv2 it helps us to see if you warrant additional testing or not but your hsv2 was negative so no need for more testing.
