I am worried I might have herpes, but the pieces don't fit.

First of all, I've been with the same girl for 11 months now. I have not cheated on her, and I trust that she hasn't cheated on me. However, her previous boyfriend cheated on her, and she only found this out 2 or 3 months ago. I didn't worry about herpes, because every website I've read says you have a very uncomfortable outbreak very soon after contracting it. After 11 months, she and I would both have it in our mouths, and running out of every other orifice, it seems. I never worried too much about it, but recently she came to me crying because she had a bump on her labia majora, but to me, it just looked like an in-grown hair. I, myself, started shaving my pubic hair a few months ago for a change of scenery, and this has lead to a plethora of bumps, as anyone who has done this will know. Right now I'm pretty stricken with paranoia, however, because I have two bumps in particular that are up the shaft a little further, where even the "Pearly Penile Papules" or whatever they're called start getting pretty sparse. They're very small, and may be the result of popping the "PPP's" and causing inflammation.
Another thing that worries me, which started today, is when I got up, and went to the bathroom, my urine stream was very small and constricted. I've had this problem before, so I just pushed a little harder, and was met with a sharp pain, and minor bleeding. I dunno if I have a herp in my urethra, and thats what caused it.....but I'm about 2 days away from going to the clinic and getting checked out.

The little inflamed bumps don't hurt unless I try to squeeze them, and although I've had trouble peeing before, mostly just issues with peeing in a straight like (sometimes there'll be a stream and a dribble, or it'll come out in a cone, or have little annoying offshoots.....not fun in other peoples bathrooms), but I've never had any severe discomfort or itching, or burning up to this morning with I ruptured whatever I ruptured. I'm asking if anyone has any idea if I'm just being paranoid and suffering from a few unfortunate afflictions, or if it could really be serious. Also, I'd like to ask what to expect when I go to the clinic, a blood test, some kind of surface swabbing, a q-tip down my pee-hole....sort of worrisome to think about. Thanks, I hope to hear back from someone.

Actually the vast majority of people who have hsv1 don't need treatment. You evidently aren't having reoccuring cold sores to be a bother and we don't have info that shows that suppressive therapy reduces transmission of hsv1 orally either.

Statistically 1 out of every 2-3 people that you have ever met, have hsv1 orally whether they know it or not.  Sounds like you and those around you just have never taken the time to learn much about herpes to know how prevelant hsv1 is worldwide.

I suppose so. I was pretty distraught when I got the news, since like, any partner I have for the rest of my life, I'm going to have to tell about that...just sort of a stigma. I'm going to the doctor on monday, (had to tell my mom about it, that was a horrible experience) and I guess they'll put me on Valtrex or something.

most adults will test + for hsv1 whether they can recall any obvious cold sores or not. NOthing to say there goes my life over by no means.

I'm still going to the clinic on thursday. The 2 bumps on my penis are just healing the way a regular irritated bump would. It doesn't burn when I pee anymore, but I've got the sneaking suspicion my urethra is trying to grow shut. I know genital tissue heals very quickly, and I'm thinking maybe I had some kind of irritation there and it's trying to like....heal. Doesn't make any sense, but neither does anything else. I guess I'll find out thursday, or two week from thursday, from what some of my friends tell me about the results coming back. I'll let everyone know if I'm lucky or not.

You need to stop looking at things and picking at them too.

NEVERMIND, the pain did not reside. When I actually tried to pee just now, it couldn't come out freely, with a great deal of discomfort. I examined the situation, and it looks like my urethra is trying to grow shut. I picked at it a little bit, and managed to pee right, and it didn't burn too badly. I think the pain from just from picking at it. I'm definitely going to the clinic at my earliest possible convenience.

Luckily, that pain and bleeding has subsided. I think I just pushed too hard and tore something....I'll still probably be going to the clinic though

If you are bleeding from your urethra ( aka pee hole ) you should call the clinic to be seen today.

Having some problems with your stream periodically is also pretty normal. Ask any female who lives with males and has to do the cleaning of the bathroom and they can tell ya that ;)

The pain could be an amount of dried semen remaining post-coitus, but then again it sounds as though your experience with this is somewhat regular.

My girlfriend has a checkup coming and she's getting a test. I just didn't want to wait, especially with my peehole bleeding. The pain is right in the head of my penis, right on the lip of the urethra, so I'm not sure if it's my prostate. Thanks, though, you made me feel better. I got a buddy of mine to go get tested with me for support, haha. I was afraid that maybe I had a herp-sore (dunno the medical term) right in the hole or something that was affecting my trajectory.

It sounds as if you all have a few things going on.  It could be that you both have folliculitis, which is an infection of the hair follicles.  If you've shared a razor or had sex, you can share whatever bacteria is causing that.

Herpes, folliculitis, etc., wouldn't cause problems with your urine stream.  That sounds like a prostate issue.

When you go to the clinic, you can expect to pee in a cup or maybe get the q-tip - depends on the clinic.  You will probably also get some blood drawn.  They should culture whatever sores you have.

Your gf also needs to be seen.
