And 1 more thing. If im taking one of the following medication for my genital herpes: AcyclovirAcyclovir Acyclovir sodium Acyclovir topical (ZoviraxZovirax Zovirax topical), famciclovir (Famvir), or valacyclovir (Valtrex). On a daily basis, even without having an outbreak or anything. Can i have unprotected sex without transmitting it? Because it would be REAAALLLY nice if i can. :) thank you
the risk of you transmitting hsv2 to your partner is rather low over all. if all you did was avoid sex anytime you had obvious genital symptoms, your female partner has about a 90-92% risk of NOT contracting hsv2 from you each year. If you take daily suppressive therapy with valtrex ( the only herpes antiviral studied for this so far ), you cut her risk in half. throw in condoms too and she's got a 92-93% chance each year of NOT contracting hsv2 from you. You'll never get it down to 0 risk but it's pretty darn low in general with minimal precautions.
You need to have your doctor evaluate these crawling sensations on your face. they aren't likely due to herpes.
