I have tried everything

I am a 27 yr old male (Consider myself a healthy individual). I contracted HSV2 back in Dec of last year. Since then I have had constant outbreaks that didnt seem to quit. I then went on 500mg of valtrex and still would get outbreaks. then my dr. put me on 1gram of valtrex daily and I still will get small red bumps that itch like crazy and dont look like blisters, but I'm pretty sure they are herpes related. I take Lysine, zinc, and various other vitamins daily to try to combat the virus. Why is that some people can contract this demon and have minor issues and others like myself have to deal with it on a daily basis. I feel like it is taking over my life and on a serious note, do not know what to do. I also recently met an amazing women who I care about alot and can't find the courage to let her know I have this problem. I have recently made an appoitment with a dermatologist to get some better advise. Someone please tell me there is light at the end of this dark tunnel. Anyone have a similar problem that can help with a solution to this problem?

Most likely this is something else going on. Just because you have herpes, doesn't mean everything down yonder IS herpes. Did he test for fungal or bacterial infection? Dermatitis and eczema can be very itchy as well. As to the vitamins and what not, none of them are proven to do anything for herpes, and we get enough lysine in our diets already.

Good that you are seeing a dermatologist to sort this out.

Also, I know people who have HSV2 and their symptoms and frequency of outbreaks are a joke compared to mine. I really don't know what to do at this point.
