I heard

I heard that 5 years after exposure herpes practically goes away and your body suppresses almost every outbreak. True?

Not true at all actually :(

One study done in the past showed that after 5 years of being infected with hsv2 - about 1/4 of folks have more ob's, 1/4 of folks have less and the rest all have about the same number of ob's each year.

Also keep in mind that the number of ob's is not the most important part anyways if you are in a discordant relationship ( where one partner has hsv2 and the other doesn't ). The valtrex and transmission study found that folks infected for 1-10 years are shedding the virus about the same amount whether they have 0 ob's or up to 10 ob's ( folks newly infected and up to the 1st year shed the virus more often ).  There was recently a study done on folks infected for > 10 years with hsv2 that is soon to be published that looked at how often they were shedding the virus with daily swabbing.  Once that's published - I can talk about that too.

Also have you checked out the herpes dating sites to see if there are any fellars in your area worth checking out?

You need a GOOD man - gotta be a little more specific about what you ask for dahlin ;)

You'd think with all the folks here with herpes posting - there'd be some decent hook ups!!!
