I kissed a scab

OK... so I preface this by saying I knowingly did something VERY stupid.

48 hours ago, I made out with someone who had a cold sore scab on their lip.  I didn't kiss the scab directly (it was in the far right side of the upper lip).

OK, ok... now, I know there is a very real risk that I will end up with oral herpes because of this.  My question is this: Is there any chance I may NOT end up with it?  Or is it pretty much a done deal?

I already have HSV2.

Some people never learn!

Anyone want to venture I guess?  I will keep you all posted... no signs of a sore yet - although I cant tell if I am imagining tingles & pain or they are really happening...I am so psyched out over this!

No way of knowing if you were infected, and no stats on transmission. If you do not develop obvious symptoms within 2-20 days, then most likely it was not transmitted.

Have you ever been tested to know your HSV1 status? No symptoms doesn't mean negative, necessarily. More than 1/2 the adult population has it and most don't know it.

Day 8, no sore...  tick-tock

Hi again... so day 11, and I have a"something" inside my lip, kind of tender, no pus, or multiple anything.

Question - what is the contagiousness factor from the time of infection (when I kissed the guy with the scab) through this moment, assuming this "something" may develop into a blister, and then when the blister bursts, etc.

And another question - is it unusual that this "something would be on the inside, soft tissue of my lip, and not on the outside?

sounds like you are spending a lot of time checking out your  mouth?

see your provider if you think this is more than just a canker sore.

have you every  been tested to know your own herpes status?
