I think I have herpes but the bumps are healing after 2 days

Hi, I need some help on this particular dilemma. I have these red bumps underneath my vagina and before my anus(I guess my perineum) that sent me into a panic and I really think it may be herpes. However, they bumps appeared on the 21st and now seem to be almost 88% healed.
Around the 19th irritated my anus by rubbing to roughly after leaving the restroom and then tried to correct it by scrubbing it in the tub. The next day my anus started itching horribly and later that night the bumps appeared. I wanted to say the bumps just came with the itching and that it was all just a bad reaction to my soap along with my anus already being sore/irritated. Since I do not have health insurance and the health dept does not do herpes/genital warts testing this is my only real hope. Especially since the bumps are seemingly healing so I wont even be able to show the nurse practitioner.
Also, the bumps only itched along with my anus and although they did seem fluid filled, they just seem to be just flattening out and not leaving an ulcer or any mark. The itching in my anus is also subtly declining.
Is it herpes or is it irritation bumps, I know I still need to get checked but any helpful advice would be nice.
Please and thank you!

I don't know that the date is any kind of sign, to be honest. The virus behaves differently in everyone. The usual pattern for someone who has never contracted either type of the virus is that the first infection will cause symptoms within two weeks of exposure. However, this is not always the case. Up to 90% of HSV positive people don't even know they have the virus because their bodies didn't have a significant enough response to contracting it.

Herpes can present in a number of ways, and also mimics other conditions, so it's hard to say whether your symptoms are an indication of having contracted the virus.

If you get new bumps, go and have them swabbed within 48 hours of presenting. Also, you might try Planned Parenthood to see if you can get a blood test done. But you'll need to show them symptoms before they'll do any kind of test. If they agree, ask for an IgG type-specific blood test.

If it is indeed herpes, but it's a new infection - less than 4 months after exposure, there's a high probability that the test will come back negative, because you will not have built up enough protective antibodies to trigger a positive result. You will need to re-test after 4 months. Good luck!

If herpes are an issue, then there must be a source. Was there any firm of sexual contact in the 2-10 days before the bumps appeared?

They don't sound much like herpes given the healing cycle and location.
