I was diagnosed with genital hsv1 please help

3 weeks ago I was tested for hsv and my blood test came back positive for hsv1 I had suspicion that I was infected due to a minor rash with small bumps on the top of my penis (glans) it's been rough and the symptoms haven't gone away at first I had pains in my thighs lower back pain and some discomfort in my groin area I was prescribed acyclovir 200 mg and it really helped the first few days it's clearing up a bit now but i still feel the tingling from time to time. My real question is in terms of transmission how infectious am I at this point as I also believe I have it orally but haven't developed and cold sores but I have felt some on the inside of my mouth but disappeared shortly after I took acyclovir. Will I ever be able to have in protected sex and is oral sex out forever for me now that I have this problem. I'm stressed out and overall I'm dealing with it but I'm afraid, I knowbhsv1 isn't as recurrent as hsv2 but I want to know if it's just as infectious as hsv2 and if unprotected sex is ever safe

Feelingundone is right on all accounts.  I have oral HSV1 and it really isn't that big of a deal when you think about it.  Somewhere around 70% of the US population has it and about 15% of us are lucky enough to get outbreaks (more than rarely).  There are so many things you can do naturally to help yourself have fewer instances or it, if you even have it.  For my oral HSV1 I take BHT and if I even think that I might have the notion of a tingle coming on I hit it with Lemon Balm extract three times a day for a day or two and nothing ever comes of it.  For the genital variety there are numerous medications as well as alternative therapies.  Totally not the end of the world.  By the way in an Indian study they treated 20 guys with Zinc Sulfate cream and that was the end of it for about half of them!

What test was given? Igm or igg? What was your positive numeric value?
I seriously doubt you have hsv both orally and genitally. That would be rare. Some people do have it but they usually acquire it at the same time.
I'm not sure what you describe on the penis is hsv either. If you ever get a sore on the penis again have a culture done and tested for hsv.
If in fact you do have hsv1 of the genitals there is some good news. Hsv1 has few outbreaks and sheds far less than hsv2. When it does shed it's believed that it isn't very potent. Meaning transmitting hsv1 from your genitals to your partners is very unlikely. Now let's look at this from another angle. Most adults have hsv1. Mostly oral infections but that doesn't matter. If your partner has hsv1 (cold sores) then you can not pass it on to them and vise versa. It doesn't matter where you have it. For instance. If you have it on the genitals and your partner has an oral infection then she will not pass hers on to you by kissing and you won't pass it to her genitals.
Hsv1 is not a big deal. Like I said most adults have it and even if they don't you the odds of you passing it from vaginal sex is slim.
