If my Igm was positive at 1.0 and my Igg was negative(<.9) for both HSV1 and HSV2 what does this mean? I was first exposed to it about a year ago. The last time I was exposed was about 8 weeks ago. Is it possible to have a false Igm or because my last exposure was only 8 weeks, I need to wait further for the antibodies to form?
Interesting. They're can always be false positives, so don't freak out. Have you had any symptoms? The IgG test is pretty accurate, and 8 weeks is enough time to get a good result. I'd say get tested again in about a month or two. Good Luck-
I agree with Applecanary, a confirmatory test is not a bad idea, but to be honest in everything that I've read on these forums, IGM tests should not be even be given! So that says something about the accuracy of their results...
