I'd see the neurologist at this point, not test for more infections. you need to rule out a nerve issue causing your pain.
Grace no I'm talking with my gp to do that I also think I should see a urologist as well to cover all possibilities and maybe do some other ID tests that are not STD related more autoimmune in nature. Trying to get to the bottom of this.
your testing is fine and no real reason to repeat it.
have you seen a neurologist yet?
I recently took my 12 week igg herpes elect with the following results
hsv1 .15
hsv2 .10
By these results I am neg for herpes but I have all the symptoms and still have random itching burning as well as neuralgia bruised buttock feeling nerve pain down right thigh tingling in bottom of feet.
My question is if I would be having delayed seroconversion would my numbers be this low ( they were the same or close to my 6 week result) or would they have been increasing since then. I know Terri Warren suggests testing 12-16 weeks, did I test too early? Should I followup at 6 months with a western blot ? I have read igg can miss 1 in 10 of hsv1. If not herpes I am at a loss what it could be I am currently though pursuing yeast as a possible cause or fungus infection. My ID doctor has written it off I will need to find a new doctor as this is somewhat a complex issue involving skin, genital and neurological symptoms, which have greatly subsided over the lad 3 months from the initial infection but flare up moderately since.
acyclovir once daily is a waste of time and money dear.
you shouldn't be taking any acyclovir or any other herpes antiviral at all at this point!!
i received my 6.5 week results and hsv2 was negative, for some reason they did not test for hsv1, i left that medical center due to their lack of knowledge in this area and seen a std specialist, he reviewed my past testing and symptoms and journal with photos of my issues so far, suggested another round of testing at 3 month period, igg type specific type 1&2, follow up hiv testing - which was neg, and full panel std just for followup.
i am wondering we spoke about the acyclovir affecting test results,it is 8.5 weeks now since my initial contact and have the 3 month test in 3 weeks or so, if i stop taking the acyclovir now should i get a more accurate result, and how long should i have been off acyclovir for an accurate result, i have been taking 400 mg 1xday and recently today 3x day due to tingling, soreness which i suspected another ob.
why would I disagree with what Dr Handsfield told you?
Its been 6.5 weeks since my initial outbreak - since I started acyclovir at 5 weeks every symptom seemed to subside, what i do have is latent itchiness and slight pain in testicles, i just took another IGG at 6.5 weeks and am awaiting results. I spoke with the experts on here in the pay forum and they mentioned my use of acyclovir my affect my results, do you agree with this? Also I heard after the first outbreak it can take weeks for the skin pain to subside and/or a second flare up could occur right after the first as your immune system has not yet got it in control. I still feel slightly fatigued and random muscle soreness not sure if this is real or anxiety. i also took a full std panel at 6.5 weeks to recheck any other possibilities as I am trying to figure out what i have aquired

In my original post you mentioned if the symptoms continue for another week or two to follow up with my doctor, its been 1 week and things are still showing up, which i mentioned in this follow up post, At what time do you think I would know if this is herpes or another std, meaning when should i get retested even if things clear up soon. I was told at 4 months IGG will give close to 100% accurate result, I plan on a 6 week igg test and follow up with the 4 month test.
If it is herpes I would need to prove that with the test results to get put on antiviral medication, because it seems to be hard to diagnose in me through visual examination- if thats what it is at all. praying it is not, but want to take the right steps to control this if it is reoccurring.
thanks 238 guy
we've discussed this earlier in your other post. why are you posting again about it?
