If it's not Herpes what can it be?

12 days ago I had unprotected sex. About 4-5 days after that, I noticed sores on my penis that were already scabbed over. They weren't puffy, itchy, painful or anything like that; they're just there. There are three and they are all more than 1/2-3/4 inch away from each other. Around the same time, I developed a cough and sinus congestion although I thought that was because in a four day period I only had about 12 hours of sleep and was outside a lot of the time and didn't seem to take good care of myself. I asked the female I slept with and she was tested 3 months ago and was clear of anything but has had sex with two guys since so there's the possibility she contracted it since then (she has shown no symptoms of any sort).

I went in to see a doctor because it still worries me that there are open sores on my penis but he said it was too soon to do a blood test because the antibodies wouldn't show up that quickly and he couldn't run a swab test because the sores are dried out. The doctor said it wasn't textbook Herpes by any means and that he had no idea at that time. I have to wait another two weeks before I get tested but in the mean time I can't stop worrying. If it's not Herpes, what else could it be? Can it just be a random virus and it'll go away and I'll be fine? I'm thinking the worst here so I've already assumed I have it so please any information would help. I just can't find any alternatives. Any ideas of what it could be? Please let me know!

you need to wait 3 months after the last time you had sex to get the blood testing done.  

if your symptoms are gone, not much you can do. Non-painful lesions doesn't sound like herpes going on. At this point should your symptoms reoccur before the 3 months is up, be seen promptly.  You also should consider covering your bases with a full std screening at the appropriate time since it was unprotected sex. You can get tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia now, syphilis after 6 weeks and herpes and hiv after 3 months.
