IgG and IgM

Was wondering what this meant:

Herpes Simplex type 1       IgG         Positive
Herpes Simplex type 2       IgG         Positive
Herpes Simplex Type 1&2  PgM        Negative

Serological evdience of past exposure to herpes simplex type 1 & 2

What exactly does that mean and whats IgG and PgM mean?

there isn't a herpes pgm test. it's the igm test.

give your provider a call and ask them to call the lab to get the actual numeric results. The lab gets numeric results when they run the test but some labs only report it as + or - to the providers.  Because of the false positive issues with the blood tests, knowing the actual  numeric results helps me see if you need additional testing done or not.

most adults have hsv1 orally whether they recall ever having had cold sores or not so testing + for hsv1 isn't too unexpected.  verifying your hsv2 results is really what is important.

just had an std test done and came up with that! i had like a little blister but it went away not never had a rash or anything. All the other tests came back as not detected!

definitely follow up on this then since you had symptoms.  call today and ask them to get the results.
