. He never had any symptoms before so since he had symptoms and tested positive I got tested too. Subsequently I tested positive too. I am just looking for information to explain what the results mean. My IgG bllod test was >5.0. And the IgM I think was 1:10. What does the >5.0 mean, and what does 1:10 mean? I have been looking online but can not find anything.

>5.0 simply means that you're positive. Since >5.0 represents a higher number of antibodies, some people may argue that it's an "older" infection, which makes sense, but that is not set in stone. In theory, you could have HSV for only a few months & test above 5.0.
IgM should be ignored. It could mean a recent infection but it's so unreliable that you cannot really read into it.
Did your bf test positive via culture/swab or blood test?
