What are the possibilities of having an HSV-2 igG score of 1.17 after 6 months of sexual contact? I'm terrified that it is not a false positive, thank you.

Thank you Fleetwood, I've been told that by many others and the lab scientist from the University of Washington, but because my obgyn said that I've been exposed to it I need a second opinion because she contradicted herself by saying I do but I don't have it.
Baby cakes, no need for you take the WB. You are negative by IgG, you will be negative by WB.
The IgM is only an indicator test that always needs to be confirmed with IgG testing. IgM has a very high false positive rate.

I too am also confused with my results but my scenario is a positive igM and negative igG's for both. I am getting the western blot to get clarification on this. I ask the University of Washiington to sent it. That's where their lab is and that's the only place that tests for the Western Blot. Call (800) 713-5198. and request the herpes test kit. You can have your healthcare provider order it for you or you can have it sent directly to you and follow the procedure the University tells you.

I had the same trouble finding a Western Blot test. Infact my doctor told me that there is no Western Blot done for Herpes. it is meant only for HIV which is totally wrong.
Western blot is done only in University of Washington. So what i did.
I called West over heights clinic, and told them i want to became a phone patient. They are actually nice and will help a lot.
Tell them your condition and they will definitely block an appointment for you with a Doctor in the clinic.
Dr will order you a Western Blot test and the kit will come to a Quest Diagnostics which is near by you. All you have to do is go to Quest diagnostics and give the blood. thats all
Expect a result at the end of 2nd week. But it takes about 3 weeks too. Remember your insurance will NOT cover for this. Pay from your pocket.
Let me know your results. According to my research i strongly believe you are not infected.
And most importantly: DO NOT Take Valtrex or Acyclovir or farmcyclovir tablet untill you get confirmed through WB. and if you are taking the medicines, do remember to let the Dr in West over heights know about it.
Those medicines will screw the test results.

I have a similar situation, my IGg was 1.19 on Dec 9th, 2013. I wanted to take the WB to confirm, since it's been more than 16 weeks, but I can't find it being provided through any office or doctor. I really don't want to go through all the trouble of ordering online and doing myself because I don't trust myself to do it right, so I made an appointment with my local planned parenthood to get another Igg test done and see if the number changes or comes back negative. If it's positive again, I'll go through the trouble of doing the WB to have peace of mind, but if you find out of any national medical providers that offer it PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

I would confidently say this is more towards a false positive based on the research i did.
2 reasons two state that.
1) anything between, 1.10 and 3.5 is a false positive value and needs a confirmation test.
2) Since your last sexual activity was 6 months before, i would strongly believe your IGG value would have been minimum at 3.0 if you are definitely positive for hsv-2

I was initially tested positive with normal herpes select test (igg 1.40 at 14 weeks post the possible exposure) and took a western blot at 16 weeks which came back negative last week. i gave you this information since i did lot research on this site. Wish you good luck friend. You will be negative is what i m feeling
If you are too much bothering about this take a WB test to be sure. and do not take any antiviral tablets if you are taking this confirmatory test.
