, one of which has had genital herpes for over 7 years. I went to my OBGYN for testing, but I am having a hard time understanding the results and getting a straight answer from the staff. My IgM test came back high at 1.7. My IgG type specific tests for 1 and 2 came back negative (<0.91), but my OBGYN is requesting that I come back in for the IgG test stating that I could have been recently "exposed" and therefore it is not showing yet in the IgG test. Is this right?? I also read that kidney issues could potentially mess up these tests. My neutrophils came back high (9.2 when 7.8 is considered the top end of the normal range). I really need some peace of mind here and assistance in deciphering what all of this means. I cannot imagine going another 30 days not knowing whether or not I have contracted HSV in some capacity. Help?
encounter with the (I am sure now ex) bf took place? If it was more than 3-4 months ago you can believe your results. However, if it was any shorter than that I would recommend you re-tresting when you have reached 4 months after your last sexual
That was truly helpful, and I appreciate the information on the various tests. It's been over a month, the person that I know for certain is positive is on supressive therapy and hasn't had a "breakout" in a while. I will retest and keep my fingers
