Igg and igm

Hi I'm really nervous. It's been almost 19 weeks from my date of last exposure to a symptomatic hsv positive person. I got my test done 2 days and they tested for hsv 1 and 2 combined and both igg and igm came negative. Am I still at risk or should I consider these to be conclusive. Should I also get a type specific test done ? Please could you help me cause I'm worried sick.

no it doesn't sound like herpes.

get a 2nd opinion from a different neurologist if the first wasn't willing to take the time to find out what was going on for you.

I've seen a neurologist who doesn't think anything is wrong. This new bump I have is small doesn't hurt or itch and is shiny. I'm not sure if it's water filled or not. I don't know. Does if sound like a hsv?

these are not due to herpes!!! you really need to stop thinking that they could be!!!

the tests are 98% accurate for hsv2 at the 6 month mark.

did you see a neurologist?

Please tell me if blood tests are accurate at six months and I should just ignore these bumps? I'm seriously depressed at this point.

The right side of my pubic bone burns and hurts constantly. No doctor can seem to figure out what is happening. Is it possible for herpes to not show up in the blood work? At six months it should have right? Atleast hsv 2?

that isn't a herpes symptom. have you followed up on the pain with a neurologist?

folliculitis is quite common.  make sure you are soaking your razor in vinegar or bleach after using and use an unscented antimicrobial soap like dial for washing if you are prone to getting it.

It's just that since the last six months I've had constant pain in my inner thighs and it keeps getting worse after my period. And I keep getting folliculitis every now and then and none of my docs seem to want to culture them. And now at six months I've tested negative for a combined test but I see a new red bump. Went to my doc today and he says it's a follicle infection again. I seem to have most my mind and sleep and happiness over this. Is it possible for herpes to not show in the blood work? And still to have it?  My doctor also checked my anal area which used to burn constantly and concluded it has dermatitis and put me on medicines which have helped. But these constant pimple like bumps keep worrying me.

why can't you accept your negative testing?

why are you continuing to retest for herpes?

if you have symptoms, be seen promptly. time to put the idea of herpes from this encounter away. if you can't, time to seek out professional help to help you work through your fears of a std from your last encounter.

Normally a combined test is not utilized if the value is over 1 but since its under it would be still confirmed negative for both. If this test was taken 3 months post exposure and youve not had any contact since the sore is not herpes related.
At 6 months herpes would have showed up.

Hi I've been so paranoid. And now it's been almost six months and I got a combined hsv1/2 test and my igg was .31 and igm was .38. However I noticed a red bump near my vagina. It's small and red and shiny. Makes me really scared. If I did have herpes would it show in my blood work by now?
