I'm so confused!

Hi all,
Really confused here.  I have a friend who is an adult film actress.  She had party Friday.  I had sex with her, another female, and I performed fellatio on 3 different men (I'm female).  My friend and all of the other people I had interactions with are "industry" people, so they are all tested for std's twice a month...except for herpes.  I know my friend does not have it, however.  So, Sunday morning, I discovered an itchy cluster of raised bumps on my inner thigh.  I freaked out.  Then, later in the day, I began to feel unwell...tired (slept all day), fever and a tad bit of a sore throat. I'm really worried that I contracted genital herpes from someone at her party.  However, I'm confused by this--can you get genital herpes from performing oral sex on someone (male or female) who is infected?  I would think if anything, you would contract oral herpes, but I'm not sure?
Today, I feel fine.  My fever is gone, and the rash is almost non-existent.  I'm not sure if I did have herpes, that symptoms would show up within 2 days, but I guess anything is possible.  I did go to the doctor today (to rule out shingles, which I've had before).  Since the rash is mostly healed, he could not take a culture, but he did mention herpes.  He said most people will have another outbreak within the first year, so if I do, come back then.  That's not good enough for me, so I want to have a test done.   I've heard the first "outbreak" (esp. for women) is the worst.  I don't know how people feel during their first (or any) outbreak, what their symptoms are, or how long they last.  I've been reading they last upwards of 10 days.  My symptoms literally lasted one.  Any thoughts? Thank you!

Just to be clear, did you have any form of vaginal sex that evening.

If not, then you cannot have been infected with herpes genitally from those episodes.

Orally is a possibility only, and a very remote one at that.

You can be sure that the thigh symptoms are not related to a herpes infection from the episodes you describe. Symptoms with herpes occur where you are infected and do not 'refer' elsewhere.

That's what I was thinking as well, that's it's remote.  Just not sure.

Hi,

No, I didn't have intercourse with any males that evening.  To be exact: oral on two different females (including brief rimming on one of them), and strictly oral (performing fellatio) on the males.
